During the launch, Dr Goh Siew Wen, Consultant Dermatologist at Bukit Tinggi Medical Centre, shared that oxidative stress is something most people overlook. She explained that oxidative stress happens when free radicals – formed from both internal and external pollutants such as pollution and the lack of sleep – overwhelms the body’s ability to detoxify them.

When these free radicals accumulate and latch onto the skin, the skin barrier weakens. A physically or mentally demanding and stressful lifestyle can also trigger high cortisol to further weaken the defensive barriers of the skin.
